For people with more than one Mac

Your other Mac's windows, live on this one.

oriel opens a single window from one of your Macs on another as a real window: resizable, with your keyboard and mouse, Retina-sharp, up to 120 fps. Pay once. No subscription, no account, no cloud.

Launch price: $7.99 until 4 Nov, then $14.99.

Stay put: the window stays on the other Mac, so people there see it working.

Three ways to beam

Choose what the other Mac does while you work.

The same window, three behaviours. Pick one per window from the menu bar, and switch whenever you like.
  1. Stay put

The window stays on the other Mac and keeps working there, so anyone at that Mac sees what you do. Good for helping someone, or a Mac on a desk across the room.

  2. Fluid

The window on the other Mac is resized to match yours, pixel for pixel. Nothing is scaled, so text stays crisp at any size you pick.

  3. Send over

The window leaves the other Mac's screen and lives on yours until you send it back.

What's in 1.0

Everything you'd want from a window onto another Mac.

All of it ships in the first version, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
  • Single windows or whole displays

Pick one window from the other Mac, or bring over a whole display.

  • Native, sharp, up to 120 fps

Resizable, keyboard and mouse, Retina-sharp, smooth.

  • Several Macs on one desktop

Windows from several Macs, side by side, on the Mac you're using.

  • Start apps on the other Mac

Pick an app from the other Mac's list and its window opens on yours.

  • Quick Open from anywhere

Press Control-Option-Space, type a few letters, press Return.

  • Starred windows and automatic reconnect

Your usual windows come back by themselves after sleep or a Wi-Fi change.

  • Wake a sleeping Mac

One click sends a wake signal to a Mac that has gone to sleep.

  • Data saver, live stats and keep on top

Cap the bandwidth on slow links, see the frame rate and delay, pin a window above the rest.

  • Per-app audio

Sound from the beamed app plays on your Mac.

  • Clipboard sync and file drop

Copy on one Mac, paste on the other. Drag files onto a beamed window to send them.

  • Headless Mac mini and Mac Studio

Pair it once with your licence key and it just works, no display attached.

  • Share links for anyone

One window in any browser, end-to-end encrypted. Guests need nothing installed.

  • Lives in the menu bar

Your Macs, their windows and share links, one click away. English at launch.

Every feature in detail

Private by design

Mac to Mac. Nothing in between.

Your windows never touch a tealmac server. The two Macs find each other on your network, or over Tailscale when you're away, and talk directly.
  • End-to-end encrypted

X25519 key exchange and ChaCha20-Poly1305 for every frame, keystroke and file.

  • Direct connection

Over your local network, or Tailscale from anywhere. No relay for your own Macs.

  • Pairing you can see

A 6-digit code on both screens, or automatic for Macs with the same licence key.

  • Hidden by default

Password managers and hidden windows are never listed. Hide any app you like.

oriel contacts our server only to check your licence. Share links go through a relay that sees only encrypted bytes. Read exactly what is sent in the privacy policy.

Questions

Good to know before you buy.

It opens a window from one of your Macs on another of your Macs as a real, native window: you can resize it, type into it and click in it, it is sharp on Retina displays and runs at up to 120 fps. You can share one window or a whole display, and put windows from several Macs on one desktop.
